We are constantly listening, the noise pollution never stops. Our ears are overworked whether it be self-imposed as a result of our own activity, or imposed upon us by this noisy world we live in. Aren’t we told by Jesus to “listen if we have ears.” But, unfortunately, we are not taught how to listen. There are a lot of “how to talk” classes, but very few (if any) “how to listen” classes. And, to top it off, Jesus is talking about “listening” for the “voice of God” speaking to us. Talk about a double struggle, that of “listening for the voice of God.” But, that’s the challenge of faith, making the effort to seek out those opportunities where God is speaking to us, and then taking the time to stop and truly listen to what He has to say!
